Surface Slip Stitch Tutorial

Fri May 23, 2014, 3:00 PM

I love how this stitch is an easy way to add detail or to make professional, clean-looking color changes.
I've used the Surface Slip Stitch in these projects:
frog hat by Brookette - The black line for the froggy smile Cute Fruits Blanket by Brookette - I used it for the white "reflection" on the cherries and apples (back side facing out)
Penguin Blankey by Brookette - I stitched it here with black around the penguin's face so that zig-zag line doesn't show where the colors meet.
Berry Bunny by Brookette - I used it here on the sleeves and shirt top and also the shoes Spring Bunny by Brookette - It's the dark pink stitching here around the front

Let me know what you think of this tutorial and if you have any questions about the surface slip stitch or crochet! :la:

This is a lot easier than I thought it would be. I've been keeping this tutorial for the day I'd need to know the stitch and thanks to you, I managed to help my mother by doing the surface slip stitch on a piece of her knitting!

Heh, yeah. Like cable knits. So many people do them, and the rest are wondering how to.
