"...let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
My first paper quilling project!! I'm so excited about this and so happy with the way it came out. I don't have a great camera though, so the picture is left wanting, BUT hopefully I can borrow my brother's REALLY NICE EXPENSIVE camera and take some better pics soon. I just wanted to get this in before the deadline.
This project took at least 10 hours of work, I'm not sure...I found paper quilling fairly easy to pick up, but I didn't get too fancy with all the different quilling shapes, just variations of the scroll. I got lots of inspiration on this website [link] she's really great at what she does.
There's only a few things I'd self-critique myself on: 1. the colored stips of paper I used are ever-so-slightly bigger than the white strips. 2. I had to crop the photo a bit because the finished piece is not very well centered, so you're missing about an inch off the left side! 3. I did my glueing on regular drawing paper and not cardstock (newbie mistake) so the paper is a little wavy now.

The 'shine' lettering really has a chrome feel to it, with the way the shadows and highlights play out. This Quilling art always looks so impressive. It's funny you don't see more of it around.
This is totally awesome. Wait.... OH WOW! I thought that was computer generated but then I read the description and took a closer look. I'm just going to say that my respect for you just shot up a bazillion points.
I suppose I should try more...I have all this extra paper around now!
Well, you never know unless you try. You should!
